Reid Scholarships for outstanding young scholars from North Macedonia

The Reid Scholarships were established in 2019 in memory of Graham and Peggy Reid following a generous bequest to the Trust from their estate. The Reids spent much of their lives living and working in Macedonia, teaching English and translating several volumes of Macedonian poetry. Reid Scholars are selected by the Trustees at their annual meeting. They receive a certificate and an additional sum as well as their BST grant.

The first Reid Scholars were nominated in 2019-20:

Maja Kuzmanovska, a doctoral student in Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Skopje, has been awarded a grant for a 3-month period of study at The Crick Institute, a biomedical research centre in London in order to carry out experiments for her PhD.

Angela Poposka is pursuing a PhD at the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology, University of Skopje, she will be supported by the Trust to undertake research for 3 months in the Structures Testing Laboratory at Imperial College London.
